The Tawny Coster, a newcomer to Australia, was first recorded in our city during Brisbane's Big Butterfly Count at Boondall Wetlands in February 2021. The second season of our surveys has now seen the butterfly at Moggill Conservation Reserve. It's here to stay.
You never know what might happen during our butterfly surveys... A butterfly from Victoria, the Eltham Copper, feared to be extinct has been found again. We need good news knowing that our environment is under much pressure, especially in fast growing Brisbane.
